The abbreviation CBG stands for cannabigerol, a relatively unknown substance discovered as early as 1965 by two Israeli chemists. This substance is produced by all cannabis plants and is used in the plant as a kind of building block for other active cannabinoids: THC and CBD.

When the plant reaches flowering, there will actually be virtually no CBG left in the plant, as it is converted to other cannabinoids. When a lot of CBG does remain, it means that that plant will not contain high levels of THC or CBD. CBG oil is best combined with the use of CBD oil.
