The rediscovery of Mushrooms as original medicine

They assume every conceivable shape, size, smell and color, are among the largest and oldest organisms in the world and contain miraculous medicinal properties. Medicinal mushrooms have been used extensively in the Far East for centuries. Only recently have we begun to realize how powerful some mushrooms are.

The more we learn about fungi, the more we have to adjust our ideas about the world of fungi. This is hardly surprising, since it is estimated that only about 6% of all fungal species have yet been described.

The use of medicinal mushrooms is one of the very oldest healing methods. Some 7,000 years ago, medicinal mushrooms were already being used in China. But medicinal mushrooms were also used by Aborigines in Australia, Egyptian dynasties and in ancient Roman cultures.

A nicer word for fungi is “fungi. The world of fungi is the world of molds and fungi. Fascinating: fungi are neither fauna nor flora, but they do communicate with the flora and fauna around them. They have an intelligent survival strategy. Multicellular fungi often have fruiting bodies: mushrooms. Some of these are poisonous, some are edible, some are psychedelic and then there are the medicinal ones. The latter group in particular is currently enjoying great interest!
