The difference between WandelWol anti-pressure wool and other types of anti-pressure wool

Since WandelWol introduced the specially developed anti-print wool product for the foot, it has been impossible to imagine the market without it. With making a good running brand you also know you will have competition, that keeps you on your toes and that is good for our target market. Almost weekly, WandelWol gets asked what the difference is between WandelWol anti-pressure wool and the other types of anti-pressure wool that have come on the market.

WandelWol anti-pressure wool is developed with care

WandelWol is the first to have developed anti-pressure wool specifically for the foot, with the result of solving foot discomforts experienced by hikers, athletes and all day users. We can therefore say that WandelWol has further developed its anti-pressure wool. WandelWol has researched which types of wool connect to foot problems. After all, there are very many types of sheep and therefore different types of wool. Each sheep species has its own coat structure and thus various qualities in the coat. By combining the right types of wool, WandelWol has created the perfect antidote for the foot.

100% Merino wool inserts as anti-pressure wool

If we look at the other types of anti-print wool that have been marketed, they often consist of one type of wool. For example Merino wool, which is known for its softness. Very nice of course, but this type of wool felts (recognizable by the “hardening” of the wool) very quickly and also retains moisture longer than other types of wool. Putting 100% Merino wool into practice as an anti-pressure wool means that it quickly ‘wears out’ and stays wet when you perspire a lot. It also further explains why Merino wool can be used well in the clothing industry for example in making socks and sweaters.

Lanolin content in Hiking wool anti-pressure wool

Also, the lanolin content in competitors’ wool often leaves much to be desired. Not because the type of wool is not right, but because the washing is not adapted to it. You recognize this wool by the (almost) white color and the wool is dry and far from greasy. Such an anti-pressure wool will not be able to give the foot the proper skin care with the still present lanolin that sheep’s wool is precisely known for.

Addition of other ingredients to anti-pressure wool, e.g. bamboo

In addition, there are antipressure products in which wool is combined with other products. This would be nice if the product would then be an additional added value compared to wool. Looking for example at an addition like bamboo, we can observe that bamboo felts quickly and also, like Merino wool, retains moisture longer compared to the types of wool that WandelWol uses for its anti-print wool. In addition, the production process to turn hard bamboo into soft fibers is very environmentally unfriendly because it requires chemical processing.

Conclusion developed melange WandelWol anti-pressure wool

The fact that WandelWol has been over six years ahead of its competitors with its product, WandelWol anti-print wool, can be traced to several aspects compared to its current competitors. Due to the proper blend of the different types of sheep and the natural washing, WandelWol anti-pressure wool maintains a high lanolin content in the product. WandelWol uses only wool from sheep that are kept in an animal-friendly manner. The different types of wool are washed together naturally. WandelWol antidruk-wol is produced in the Netherlands, thus contributing to reducing your ecological footprint/footprint.
