Applied as a lotion, chamomile water soothes and calms sensitive and irritated dry skin. This hydrolate is used for under-eye puffiness, to soothe irritations of the eyelid margin and to brighten red and tired eyes. Its purifying and firming properties make chamomile water an ideal natural cleansing lotion for removing makeup from dry skin.

The flowers, which are distilled for La Drôme’s hydrolates, come from organic farming or from wild picking in pristine natural areas. The flower waters or hydrolates of La Drôme are obtained by a slow, prolonged steam distillation with spring water from fresh, mostly organic, flowers and plants. For this purpose, the flowers or leaves are placed in a distillation flask. The rising steam causes the cells, rich in plant extracts, to burst open. The steam, laden with essential oils then condenses in a florentine vase under cooling with cold running water. The water becomes blossom water as it enriches with the water-soluble constituents of the essential oils and fragrant components. The blossom water and essential oil split in the separation vessel due to a difference in density. The blossom water produced in this way is rich in aromatic constituents.
